A structured, bespoke programme built around your dog — not a one-size-fits-all approach that falls apart the moment you see another dog.
Every walk is a battle. You're scanning for other dogs before you've even left the driveway.
You've been told your dog is "just reactive" and there's not much you can do about it.
You've tried other trainers — maybe a group class, maybe someone who gave you a bag of treats and told you to redirect. It worked for a week.
You're hiding up driveways, ducking into the woods, crossing the road every time you see another dog coming.
You've read every blog, watched every YouTube video, and you're more confused than when you started.
You're starting to wonder if this is just how life with your dog is going to be.

This doesn't have to be your reality.
This isn't a generic obedience course repackaged with a new name. The Reactivity Reset is a structured, 6-week training plan built specifically for reactive dogs. It starts with a full assessment of your dog — their triggers, their history, their environment, and your goals as an owner. Then we build a programme around that.
I come from an engineering background. I like solving problems properly — not papering over them. Every session builds on the last, and by the end of the six weeks, you'll have a dog that can function in the real world and an owner who knows exactly how to handle them.
We meet your dog. I assess their triggers, body language, physical health, and your home setup. No assumptions — just observation.
Marker system, communication structure, basic engagement. Your dog learns to check in with you instead of scanning for threats.
We take it outside. Controlled exposure to triggers with clear protocols. This is where the work gets tested — and where the results show.
Recall, impulse control, and the confidence to let your dog have the freedom they deserve. This is what you've been working towards.
You walk past another dog and your dog looks at you instead of losing it. You stop crossing the road. You stop planning routes around other people's schedules.
Your dog gets to be a dog again. And you get to enjoy having one.

"We'd been to two other trainers before finding Kernow Canine Academy. Within three sessions, our GSD was walking past other dogs without lunging. Six weeks in, he's a different animal. We actually enjoy walks now."
Sarah & Max
German Shepherd, 3 years old
From lunging at every dog to loose-lead walking in 6 weeks
"I was seriously considering rehoming my Staffy because I couldn't manage her reactivity. The programme gave me the tools and the confidence to handle her properly. She's still with us and she's thriving."
James & Bella
Staffordshire Bull Terrier, 2 years old
Owner went from considering rehoming to confident management
"What I liked was there was no judgement. Just practical, clear instruction. My collie went from being unable to see another dog at 50 metres to walking calmly in a group class. That's not an exaggeration."
Emma & Finn
Border Collie, 4 years old
50m trigger distance reduced to walking in group within 6 weeks
Generic group classes where your reactive dog is set up to fail from day one
Treat-based redirection that works in the living room but falls apart on the street
A one-hour session, a handout, and a "good luck"
No follow-up, no structure, no accountability
Tell you your dog is "just like that" and to manage around it
Individual assessment before any training starts — your dog, your situation, your goals
A structured 6-week programme that builds progressively, session by session
Balanced methodology — we use the tools that actually work for your specific dog
Ongoing support throughout the programme with clear homework between sessions
A genuine focus on results you can see and measure, not just theory
You're committed to putting in the work between sessions — not just during them
You want real, measurable change and you're prepared to follow a structured programme
You've tried other approaches and they haven't delivered lasting results
You're open to balanced training methods — not looking for a purely treat-based approach
You want your dog to have a better life, and you're willing to invest the time to make it happen
You're looking for a quick fix or a magic solution that requires no effort on your part
You're not willing to practise between sessions — the homework matters
You want someone to just "fix" your dog without changing anything about how you handle them
You're ideologically opposed to balanced training and only want purely positive methods
You're not prepared to commit to the full 6-week programme
Without being told your dog is "just reactive" and there's nothing you can do
That's not a diagnosis. That's a cop-out. Every dog I've worked with has shown improvement when given the right structure.
Without endless treat-bribing that stops working the second the treats run out
If your dog only listens when there's a sausage in your hand, that's not training. That's negotiation.
Without spending months on a waiting list for a behaviourist who gives you a report and no practical help
You don't need a 15-page PDF. You need someone in the field with you, showing you what to do.
Without sitting in a group class watching your dog lose it while everyone else's dog sits nicely
Reactive dogs don't belong in generic group classes until they're ready. We get them ready first.
Without spending hours trawling through contradictory advice online
One trainer says one thing, another says the opposite. You end up doing nothing because you don't know who to trust.
Still planning walks around other people's schedules to avoid triggers
Still crossing the road every time you see another dog
Still dreading the morning walk instead of looking forward to it
Still wondering if you should have got a different dog
Still Googling "reactive dog help" at midnight
Walking past other dogs without your heart rate spiking
Your dog checks in with you instead of scanning for threats
Off-lead freedom in the right environments — something you thought was impossible
Actually enjoying your walks again instead of enduring them
Confidence that you know exactly what to do when a trigger appears
Not vague promises. Actual numbers from actual dogs I've worked with in Cornwall.

I came from engineering. Problem-solving was what I did for a living — figuring out why something wasn't working and building a system to fix it. When I had problems with my own dog, I went through the same frustration most of my clients describe. Tried the group classes. Tried the treat-based approach. Got told my dog was "just like that."
Then I found a trainer who actually knew what they were doing. The difference was immediate. Not overnight — but within weeks, my dog was a different animal. That's when I knew I wanted to do this properly.
I got mentored by Ian Kirke at the Yorkshire Canine Academy — one of the most respected balanced trainers in the country. I learned how to assess dogs as individuals, how to build structured programmes that actually deliver results, and how to give owners the skills and confidence to manage their dogs long after the training ends.
I've now worked with over 50 reactive dogs across Cornwall. Every single one of them has shown significant improvement. That's not a sales line — it's just what happens when you apply the right methods to the right dog with an owner who's willing to put in the work.

"I was sceptical about balanced training at first, but the results speak for themselves. My Labrador went from being a nightmare on walks to genuinely enjoyable company. The structured approach made all the difference."
Tom & Cooper
Labrador Retriever, 5 years old
"The assessment alone was worth it. Nobody had ever actually looked at my dog as an individual before. Within two weeks of starting the programme, I could see changes I'd been waiting years for."
Rachel & Ziggy
Lurcher cross, 3 years old
"Straight-talking, no nonsense, and genuinely knows his stuff. My Rotty was dog-reactive and I'd been told by two other trainers that it was just his breed. Six weeks later, he walks past other dogs without a second glance."
Clare & Bruno
Rottweiler, 2 years old
"What surprised me most was how much of the training was about me, not just the dog. Learning to read her body language and respond properly changed everything. We're a proper team now."
Louise & Pepper
Springer Spaniel, 2 years old
Six weeks, with one session per week. Each session builds on the previous one, so consistency matters. Between sessions, you'll have homework to practise — that's where most of the progress actually happens.
Initial sessions take place at our secure training paddock where we lay the foundations. Once these are set, we move out into the real world — the places you actually walk your dog.
All of them. Reactivity doesn't discriminate by breed. I've worked with everything from Chihuahuas to Akitas. The approach is tailored to the individual dog, not the breed label.
Reactivity and aggression are on a spectrum. I work with dogs across that spectrum. The assessment will tell us exactly where your dog sits and what the programme needs to look like. If I don't think I can help, I'll tell you straight.
Every dog I've worked with has shown significant improvement. That said, results depend on you putting in the work between sessions. If you follow the programme, the results come. It's not magic — it's structure and consistency.
No. Some clients come to me first, others have been through multiple trainers. Either way, we start with a full assessment and build from there. Previous training (good or bad) is just part of the picture.
